Sunday School Classes 9:45am – 10:45am
Sunday Morning Bible Study and Morning Worship
We value children of all ages and offer Sunday School classes appropriate for each child’s age and learning level. The following classes are offered during the Sunday school hour 9:45 – 10:45am.
Infants and Toddlers
Children under the age of two attend our nursery Sunday school which is staffed by loving volunteers and members of our church. This is a time when children learn songs about God’s love, play with age appropriate toys and share in a snack.
Pre-K Sunday School
Children who have not started Kindergarten attend our pre-K Sunday school class. The children study the, “Grow, Proclaim, Serve!” curriculum. This curriculum encourages children to proclaim the good news of God by loving God, neighbor and themselves. The children watch an interactive story on a DVD, learn age appropriate songs, and study a monthly Bible verse.
Elementary Sunday School
Children who are currently enrolled in elementary school attend our elementary Sunday school class. This class participates in the rotation model. We believe children learn in a variety of way, so we offer different ways for children to study and grow in the Bible. Children study one story of the Bible each month. Each week the children approach the story using a different area of multiple intelligences. One week the children may learn the story through arts and crafts or drama, while another week the children may learn the story through games or science. No child learns the same way, and we seek to offer an environment that allows children to learn in their own way.
Worship for Children
We believe children should be actively involved with the community in the worship of God. Children enrolled in the first grade or higher attend our 11:00am service with their families. Our church service nursery is available for infants through Kindergarten. Drop off for this nursery begins at 10:45am for infants through 3 year olds on the preschool floor of our children’s wing.
We also offer a transitional opportunity for children ages four through Kindergarten. This opportunity allows children to attend half of the service before going to the nursery. We believe this helps children become familiar with the church service environment and prepares them for worship in the coming years. Children ages four through Kindergarten are asked to attend the church service and exit with the nursery workers after the children’s sermon.
While our focus is in sharing God’s Word and love with your child, please know your child’s safety is of utmost concern for First Baptist Tucker. It is a requirement for background checks to be done for crimes against children on all adult workers in the children’s ministry. Our teachers deeply love the Lord, have a heart for teaching children and are proactive when it comes to their safety.
Security and safety is high priority among our ministry. All children on the nursery and preschool floor are issued a security card. Parents are given the security card upon drop off during Sunday morning or other activities. This card is presented during pick up in order to assure that infants and toddlers are safely picked up.
Community Game and Skate Nights
We value all children and families of the community and seek to offer events for everyone. We offer community game and skate nights several times throughout the year. This is a free event that takes place on a Friday evening in our gym. Families are invited to join us for a night of fellowship, skating, games, music and snacks. It is a great night for all and we hope to see you at our next event!
