Randy Shepley, Pastor

Randy came to First Baptist Church of Tucker in April of 2008 from the First Baptist Church of Marietta, Georgia where he served as an Associate Pastor. Before his time in Marietta, Randy was the Pastor of North Wilmington Community Church in Wilmington, NC, a church plant designed to reach persons disinterested and disconnected from church.

Randy was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up attending Wieuca Road Baptist Church. He graduated from Clarkston High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in History and Christianity from Mercer University and his Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Currently, Randy is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer, where his research focuses on the church embracing the mission of God in its community.

Randy is blessed to be married to Alice, who is a native of Macon, Georgia. Alice is a graduate of Furman University and the University of North Carolina, where she received her master’s degree in Spanish literature. Randy and Alice have three young children: James, Samuel, and Elizabeth. In his spare time, Randy enjoys grilling, reading a good book, spending time with his family, watching Georgia Tech football, hanging out with friends, drinking sweet tea, making new friends, and playing an occasional game of basketball.
